The backboard is MDO plywood with rounded edges and radius corners. This entire sign is coated with a high gloss automotive clear finish.

My goal in this design was for it to exude a chic, slick and contemporary feel, incorporating a fun 'n bouncy 50-ish mode. The shiny finish and the multi-levels help to achieve this in an innovative fashion.

"RETRO" letters are 2" thick cut from HDU and stand off with spacers from the yellow disc behind them. The disc is wood with rounded edges and also stand off with spacers from the backboard.
The "elevator cables" are made from painted brass rod and are also attached with stand offs from the backboard.
